- Onboarding logistics partners in India (WCA Members), who have strong, reliable counterparts in the USA, UK, Europe and all the countries where you export your products. Similar engagements for import consignments as well.
- Vendor mapping / Appropriate mix of existing and new vendor partners: to determine and assess core strengths of each logistics vendor and do vendor mapping based on specific requirement of every shipment. (key deciding attributes being: transit, price, network strength of overseas agent etc.)
- Defining end to end Logistics SOP/ Structure to be followed around all the stages of the shipments: freight agreement, cargo booking, documentation, track and trace modality, formalities at destination, delivery at destination.
- Overseeing every stage of the shipments to ensure smooth, efficient handling and last leg/ last mile delivery by the appointed vendors.
- Pricing: one of the most important stages in the logistics process, my involvement on freight pricing for all port pairs would be paramount, with the objective of reducing logistics costs by at least 20% of the current costs incurred by the company.
- Escalations/ Exception Handling: as and when required for documentation, custom clearance and other regulatory issues.
- Client Communication: updating overseas clients with flight information , tracking updates , drafting special advisories such as Covid-19 advisory on impact on shipments, country specific advisories on educating the clients (example: destination taxes and duties slabs in the UK )
